INTRODUCTORY NOTE

Although we live in an era where the search for success, joy, happiness and health are widely promoted as a personal and social end in itself “Illness and the consequent fear of death run through all times and all human societies… ” says Eleni Skalisti in her work “Health and disease through the ornamental plates of Dodona” and makes us aware of the various anxieties of the people of that era about their problems, not so different from those of the modern era. Part of these and of the field of couple therapy is the difficulty of companionship, in direct connection with the psychic reality of both the individual and the couple, as Anastasia Tsamparli vividly presents in her introduction ” The psychic reality of the couple”. In group therapy, Eftychia Yomela ‘s paper , “The role of the conductor” introduces us to the multifaceted functioning of the context, group dynamics and the demands of the role of the conductor. Continuing education is one of them and “The IOAF Study Group” offers this valuable opportunity to its members, as presented to us by Katerina Miliou and Eftychia Yomela. While the “IOAF Low-Cost Psychotherapy” programme enables more people to benefit from group psychotherapy. I wonder if depression and burnout are increasing in our time and how they may be linked to new forms of violence, more indirect and more insidious, as Bung-Chul Khan argues in his book ‘ The Topology of Violence’, presented by Katerina Miliou. The “Introductory Seminar 2023-2024” has already started accepting applications and continues to provide a rich experience to its members, as Kostas Konstantopoulos explains, while the working group for the publication of the Bulletin with a new “Book Proposal” wishes us a Happy Summer!
